I am a qualified counsellor, (BSc Therapeutic Counselling), with my degree being accredited by the British Association of Psychotherapy and Counselling (BACP). My counselling experience includes Relate and NHS Occupational Health. I am also a trained teacher, with experience in primary, secondary, further and adult education. I have two further accredited qualifications in life coaching.
My coaching style is person-centred. This means that I am sensitive to your personal wishes and needs, whilst providing you with the challenges you require to move on. I ask you what you want, rather than prescribing what I think you want, but I may make creative suggestions! I use my counselling skills to help you understand why you choose to behave in certain ways, and to look at how you react emotionally to circumstances. Not all coaches do this and my clients have said how beneficial this approach is. Good coaching is likely to be emotional and I will deal with your feelings empathically and at a steady pace. But because the work together is about moving forward and being creative, there is PLENTY of positive energy and fun in our sessions - which is why I enjoy coaching so much!
